Abstract: The present invention discloses an Intelligent Adaptive Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) for electric vehicles, comprising an embedded processing platform interfaced with an adapter for real-time Controller Area Network (CAN) bus acquisition of vehicle speed, drive state, and gear position. A software-based CAN decoding module communicates acoustic control parameters to a Supercollider real-time sound synthesis engine implementing a speed-dependent frequency modulation strategy at not less than 0.8% per km/h with sound pressure level not exceeding legally permissible decibel limit [75 dB(A)]. A GPS-based geo fencing module applies zone-specific acoustic profiles when the vehicle enters predefined sensitive zones. An experimental evaluation at multiple speed points (10, 20, 30 km/h) confirms compliance in terms of audibility, pitch variation, and response latency. The system constitutes a cost-effective, modular and scalable AVAS solution with multi-modal environmental sensing (Figure 1).
