Abstract: ABSTRACT An adapter 100 that is secured to an exhaust gas pipe of an engine for measuring vibrations of high temperature components of the engine is described. The adapter 100 comprises a plate 110 comprising a first surface 120 and an opposing second surface 130. The plate 110 comprises an inlet pipe 140 and an outlet pipe 150 that are each secured to the first surface 120 of the plate 110. A fastening means 160 is secured to the opposing second surface 130 of the plate 110, the fastening means 160 comprising an extruded portion containing a plurality of screw threads that are defined on its outer surface, wherein the plurality of screw threads that are defined on the outer surface of the fastening means 160 is screwed on to mating screw threads that are defined on an exhaust flow pipe of the engine.
