Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an actuating system (100) for a fuel tank cap (200) of a vehicle. The latch device (300) disposed in a main body (210) of the fuel tank cap (200). The latch device (300) includes a housing (302), and a lever (310) pivotally mounted within the housing (302). The lever (310) is configured to selectively engage with a locking member (230) of a flap (220) of the fuel tank cap (200). The latch device (300) further includes an actuator (320) disposed within the housing (302) and operatively connected to the lever (310). An electronic control unit (ECU) (400) communicatively coupled to the latch device (300). The ECU (400) is configured to receive a signal from a user input (500) and control operation of the actuator (320) to actuate the lever (310) to selectively disengage the lever (310) from the locking member (230) for unlocking the flap (220).
