MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101890 A) filed by Ishika Roy; Aryan Anand; and Sudhanshu Kumar on August 24, 2026, for Algae Station” — A Multi-Tier Bioreactor Rack System With Individually Isolatable, Hinge-Mounted Cultivation Vessels For The Cultivation Of Macroalgae.

Inventors include Ishika Roy; Aryan Anand; and Sudhanshu Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: An algae cultivation apparatus comprises a support structure defining vertically spaced levels, each supporting a plurality of cultivation vessels, governed by a centralized control unit. Each cultivation vessel is mounted via a hinge mechanism pivotable between an upright and a tilted maintenance position, and has individual water-supply, water-return, and aeration isolation valves and flexible connections, permitting the vessel to be isolated, tilted, drained, and cleaned without interrupting the shared subsystems or the remaining vessels. Independently controllable light sources deliver level-specific photon flux, spectrum, and photoperiod; gas diffusers aerate asymmetrically; and a reservoir, pump, chiller, and filter provide closed-loop water circulation, optionally via isolated circuits for differing cultures. In an alternative embodiment, vessels are configured as modular reactors with dedicated sensor-probe ports, bottom multispectrum illumination, light-isolated compartments, independent aeration and nutrient dosing with a controlled retention period, and overflow protection with a secondary filtration membrane.
