The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Introduces a smart air quality monitoring and prediction system based on Internet of Things (IoT) at a very low cost. The case of the proposed system is a gas sensors-based (MQ-9, MQ-6, and MQ-2) and a microcontroller-based tracking system which continuously detects the pollutants like carbon dioxide, smoke, alcohol, benzene, and ammonia dust. Data such as temperature and gas concentrations (PPM) are shown locally on an LCD and remotely through a web server through GPRS/Internet connectivity. To improve the functionality, a Machine Learning layer is designed in a python-based environment whereby, linear regression (Scikit- learn) is used to compute and predict imminent trends of pollution based on the data collected. Predictions are visualized to provide graphical plots and consequently allow predictive decision making. The system will also contain an alert mechanism which is based on threshold which notifies users either through the SMS or email and can also automatically operate ventilation systems to ensure that the levels of the pollution is reduced. The proposed solution is a scalable, cost-effective, and real-time solution that can be used to monitor and predict the air quality of homes, businesses, and cities.
