Abstract: The present invention provides an air cooler (100), comprising: a water tank (102); a housing comprising a top compartment (104a) and a bottom compartment (104b), separated by a mid-body (104c); and a fan assembly (106) mounted within the housing along the vertical axis (108) of the air cooler (100). The top compartment (104a) comprises one or more top openings (110) and the bottom compartment (104b) comprises one or more bottom openings (112). The fan assembly (106) is adapted to draw air from at least one bottom opening (112), and expel air from at least one top opening (110). Since the top compartment (104a) comprises more than one top openings (110), the air expelled from the fan assembly (106) is spread over a larger area and in different directions, thereby providing more effective coverage.
