Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of a system that makes use of machine learning technology through the Internet of Things (IoT) in order to achieve real-time flash flood predictions within these regions. The system uses IoT sensors that gather data regarding rain, soil moisture, and water levels from the environment. Machine learning is applied in order to process such gathered information instantly to determine a potential flash flood. The system then sends out alerts to local populations through mobile phone messages and sirens once an imminent threat has been detected. The experiment proved that the proposed framework is efficient in providing timely predictions. This system will be beneficial to the rural population since it does not require much infrastructure at all. FIG.1
