Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based transportation safety and emergency response system for monitoring vehicle movement and automatically detecting abnormal events in real time. The invention integrates computer vision, GPS-based vehicle tracking, travel time analysis, intelligent anomaly detection, driver response verification, and automated emergency alert generation into a unified transportation safety framework. The system employs AI-enabled cameras and deep learning algorithms to detect and track vehicles, assign unique vehicle identities, and continuously monitor vehicle movement across multiple checkpoints. By comparing the actual travel time with the expected travel time and analyzing GPS location, speed, and route information, the system identifies abnormal conditions such as prolonged delays, sudden stoppages, route deviations, and other suspicious vehicle behaviors. Upon detection of an abnormal event, the system initiates driver response verification to determine whether the situation requires emergency intervention. If no valid response is received, an intelligent decision engine analyzes the collected information and classifies the event as a normal condition, road accident, or suspicious incident. Based on the classification result, the system automatically transmits emergency alerts containing vehicle identification details, incident information, and live GPS coordinates to authorized emergency service providers, including police stations, hospitals, and traffic management authorities. The invention significantly reduces emergency response time, minimizes dependence on manual monitoring, improves the accuracy of incident detection, and reduces false alerts through intelligent data analysis.The proposed system provides a scalable and efficient transportation safety solution suitable for deployment across highways, urban road networks, public transportation systems, fleet management applications, and intelligent traffic monitoring infrastructures.
