MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611089090 A) filed by Pranveer Singh Institute Of Technology on July 21, 2026, for Ai-Trafficsense: An Intelligent Traffic Management System Using Real-Time Vehicle Detection And Adaptive Signal Scheduling.

Inventors include Nistha Nigam; Naitik Gupta; Nilansh Mishra; Ayushree; Dr. Nayancy; Dr. Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma; Dr. Prashant Kumar Mishra; Mr Abhishek Shukla; Dr. Rishika Yadav; and Dr. Piyush Bhushan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The product, AI-TrafficSense, is an artificial-intelligence traffic management product that optimizes four-lane urban intersections through adaptive signal control with real-time vehicle detection. Employing any standard CCTV cameras and an AI object detection algorithm (e.g., YOLO), the product identifies and counts vehicles in multiple lanes. A priority scheduling algorithm computes dynamic green signal allocation depending on lane-based traffic density. A friendly graphical user interface facilitates the input of images or video frames, outputs lane- by-lane vehicle detection, as well as visual representation of the calculated signal priority. The open-source technologies like Python, OpenCV, and TensorFlow that this project has been developed from provide scalability as well as low cost to deploy in smart cities as well as developing nations. AI-TrafficSense reduces congestion, travel time delay, as well as emissions, while offering future-proof expansion features like integration with the internet of things, emergency vehicle priority, smart dashboard tracking, thus facilitating smarter urban mobility as well as safety.
