Abstract: AI-POWERED SMART MATERNAL AND FETAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM A wearable IoT-based maternal and fetal health monitoring system is disclosed for continuous, portable, and remote observation of essential health parameters during pregnancy. The system comprises a microcontroller unit interfaced with a fetal movement sensing arrangement incorporating an accelerometer-gyroscope sensor and a piezoelectric sensor for detecting and analyzing fetal activity. A maternal vital-sign sensing arrangement includes a pulse oximetry sensor configured to measure maternal heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. The acquired physiological data are displayed locally and transmitted wirelessly to a remote database through an IoT communication interface. A companion mobile application enables authorized family members and healthcare professionals to remotely access and monitor the recorded information. The system further incorporates a dedicated emergency alert switch that generates an immediate priority notification independently of the routine monitoring cycle. The proposed system is battery-powered, portable, affordable, and modularly extensible, supporting future integration of additional sensors and AI-based predictive features for improved maternal and fetal healthcare.
