Abstract: The present invention concerns an AI-enabled interactive receptionist robot that is used to provide automated reception assistance in places like colleges, offices, hotels and other visitor-facing environments. This invention involves use of artificial intelligence with a robot for creation of a more natural way of interacting with visitors. The robot interacts with visitors through voice communication and uses a camera-based system for identification of visitors during interaction. It receives questions posed by visitors and uses an artificial intelligence system to interpret the question and generate an answer. The answer is provided to the visitor through a voice-based output system. Apart from voice communication, the robot also involves physical movement of its head, making the interaction more natural and engaging. This system can help with reception tasks like greeting visitors, recognizing visitors, answering questions and providing some assistance. This invention combines recognition of visitors, voice communication, artificial intelligence-based query answering and physical head movement in one system.
