Abstract: This development introduces an AI-powered real-time public transport tracking and crowd monitoring system designed to improve the efficiency, safety, reliability, and passenger experience of public transportation services. Conventional public transport systems often face challenges such as inaccurate vehicle tracking, unpredictable arrival times, overcrowding, inefficient route management, and limited real-time information for passengers. By using an intelligent Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things framework that continuously monitors vehicle location, passenger density, route conditions, and operational parameters, the suggested system addresses these limitations. Real-time data collected from GPS, cameras, IoT sensors, and passenger monitoring devices is processed using AI-based analytics to estimate vehicle arrival times, detect crowd levels, identify overcrowded vehicles, and support intelligent transport management. The system provides real-time information through an integrated monitoring dashboard and passenger-facing applications. AI-based prediction and decision-making mechanisms enable transport authorities to optimize vehicle allocation, identify high-demand routes, and improve passenger safety. Through cloud connectivity, the system facilitates real-time data transmission, automated analysis, alerts, historical data storage, and remote monitoring. The modular and scalable design can be applied to buses, campus transportation, city public transport, and other shared mobility services. By reducing waiting time, improving crowd management, supporting efficient vehicle utilization, and providing accurate travel information, the proposed solution contributes to the development of safer, smarter, and more sustainable public transportation systems.
