Abstract: ABSTRACT [0013] The present invention discloses an AI-powered digital twin framework designed for continuous real-time structural health monitoring and predictive maintenance of bridges. This framework establishes a bidirectional cyber-physical linkage between a physical bridge and its virtual counterpart, wherein multi-modal sensor streams including strain, acceleration, temperature, acoustic emission, and environmental parameters are continuously fused and processed by hybrid physics-informed neural networks operating at the edge and cloud layers. The digital twin dynamically updates geometric, material, and performance states of the bridge, generates full-field stress and damage maps, forecasts remaining useful life under evolving traffic and climatic loads, and autonomously prioritizes maintenance interventions. By combining sparse physical measurements with surrogate modeling and adaptive thresholding, the system detects incipient anomalies such as micro-cracking or prestress loss well before conventional inspection cycles, thereby enhancing safety, reducing lifecycle costs, and extending service life of bridge assets. The framework is implemented through modular hardware-software integration that supports scalable deployment across diverse bridge typologies while preserving data integrity and operational resilience.
