The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an advanced AI-powered deep learning system for automated pneumonia detection from chest X-ray images using Transfer Learning with a ResNet50 architecture. The system incorporates a comprehensive image processing pipeline that includes image resizing, normalization, and data augmentation techniques to improve model robustness and generalization. The invention utilizes a pre-trained ResNet50 convolutional neural network as a feature extraction backbone, enabling efficient learning of hierarchical radiological patterns from chest X-ray images. The extracted features are further processed through a customized classification head consisting of global average pooling, fully connected dense layers, batch normalization, and dropout regularization to achieve accurate binary classification into NORMAL and PNEUMONIA categories.
