Abstract: A multispectral dental mirror for assisted detection and longitudinal assessment of dental caries is disclosed. The mirror includes an intraoral reflective head carrying visible, near-infrared and fluorescence illumination sources, an image sensor, an optical filter arrangement, a distance sensor and a processing controller. The controller synchronizes wavelength-selective illumination with image capture, corrects acquired images using calibration data, registers tooth surfaces, extracts spectral, fluorescence, texture and geometric features, and generates a lesion-likelihood map. A stored predictive model compares present features with historical records to estimate lesion progression and produce a progression-risk indicator. The system further includes an anti-fog heater, a sterilizable window, a display or connected user interface, memory, a rechargeable power unit and a communication interface. Captured data may be stored with tooth-location identifiers for follow-up comparison. The apparatus provides chairside screening assistance while reducing reliance on visible-light inspection alone and enabling objective monitoring of suspected early- stage lesions over time.
