Abstract: ABSTRACT AI OPTIMIZED HYBRID ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS DRONE The present invention discloses an AI-Optimized Hybrid Energy Management System for autonomous drones which is configured to maximize flight endurance and operational efficiency by integrating multiple renewable and stored energy sources. The system combines solar energy harvesting (001), airflow-to-power conversion (002), and battery storage management (003) with an IoT-based AI controller (004) to intelligently monitor, predict, and optimize energy usage in real time. A power converter module (005) ensures seamless and efficient energy delivery to the drone’s BLDC motors, enabling precise flight control under varying power conditions. The system leverages physics-based modeling, machine learning, reinforcement learning, and model predictive control (MPC) to predict power demands, plan energy-efficient trajectories, and dynamically allocate energy among the sources and subsystems. Environmental and telemetry data, including solar irradiance, airflow, temperature, and battery state-of-charge, are continuously analyzed to optimize energy harvesting, storage, and consumption. This hybrid AI control architecture allows for extended flight durations of up to 8 hours without requiring hardware modifications, providing enhanced mission reliability and adaptability in autonomous drone operations. The proposed system offers a scalable and modular solution for drones, enabling intelligent energy management in diverse environmental conditions and mission scenarios.
