Abstract: ABSTRACT Wastewater management is a critical challenge in rural communities, where inadequate drainage systems, improper wastewater disposal, limited treatment facilities, and lack of continuous water-quality monitoring can result in environmental pollution, health risks, and wastage of reusable water resources. In order to handle this issue, an AI-IoT Enabled Intelligent Wastewater Management System is developed to provide an efficient, sustainable, and automated solution for wastewater management in rural communities. The proposed system integrates IoT sensors and intelligent analytics for continuous monitoring of important wastewater parameters such as pH, turbidity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids (TDS), water level, and flow rate. The collected sensor data are transmitted through an IoT communication network to a centralized monitoring platform for real-time analysis. An AI-based prediction and decision-making module analyzes wastewater characteristics, identifies abnormal contamination patterns, predicts water-quality variations, and supports adaptive treatment decisions. Based on the analyzed conditions, the system can automatically control treatment and diversion mechanisms such as pumps, filtration units, aeration systems, and disinfection processes. The system also facilitates real-time alerts to local authorities or responsible personnel when critical water- quality conditions are detected. Furthermore, the treated wastewater can be reuse for agricultural irrigation and landscaping. The proposed system reduces manual monitoring, enables early identification of wastewater-related problems, improves treatment efficiency, optimizes energy and water utilization.
