MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641127020 A) filed by Dr. Nerusupalli Dinesh Kumar Reddy; and Dr. Diksha on October 25, 2026, for Ai-Enabled Structural Health Monitoring System For Real-Time Detection Of Cracks And Deformations In Civil Engineering Structures.
Inventors include Dr. Nerusupalli Dinesh Kumar Reddy; and Dr. Diksha.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: [047] An AI-enabled structural health monitoring system (100) detects and tracks cracks and deformations in civil engineering structures (102) by combining distributed strain or vibration measurements, optical surface imagery and geometric displacement observations. A synchronisation and registration unit (112) associates heterogeneous observations with common time windows and structural coordinates. Inference modules (116, 118) extract candidate crack geometry and deformation fields, and an uncertainty-aware fusion module (120) evaluates the observations against structural-response constraints to distinguish corroborated damage from provisional anomalies. A defect-tracking repository (122) maintains progression histories, while a risk assessment engine (124) determines inspection priority. An adaptive acquisition controller (126) increases sampling or imaging detail in response to elevated risk or uncertainty and thereby limits unnecessary transmission during stable operation. The system provides location-specific notifications and traceable evidence for engineering review. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2].
