Abstract: AI ENABLED SMARTBIN The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence-enabled smart waste bin incorporating an edge- based acoustic material classification system. The system captures sound signals generated during waste interaction and processes them using Mel-frequency feature extraction techniques. A quantized Tiny ML neural network deployed on microcontroller hardware performs real-time classification of waste materials. The system operates without cloud dependency, ensuring low latency, low power consumption, and robustness in adverse environmental conditions such as low light and dust. The invention provides a scalable and cost-effective solution for intelligent waste segregation.
