The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled Smart Traffic Management System (STMS) for urban environments, designed to dynamically manage traffic flow, reduce congestion, and prioritize emergency vehicles. The system employs real-time data acquisition from traffic junction cameras, combined with advanced image processing and artificial intelligence algorithms, to accurately estimate vehicle density across multiple lanes. Based on the assessed traffic density, the system automatically adjusts traffic signal timings to optimize vehicle flow, reduce average waiting times, and mitigate fuel consumption and air pollution. The STMS further incorporates an emergency vehicle detection subsystem utilizing cameras, radar sensors, or RFID tags to identify approaching emergency vehicles. Upon detection, the system dynamically modifies traffic signals to create a “green corridor,” thereby expediting emergency response times and enhancing public safety. By integrating real- time traffic analysis, adaptive signal control, and emergency vehicle prioritization, the invention provides a scalable and efficient solution for intelligent urban traffic management.
