Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled smart structural condition monitoring and self-maintenance system for buildings, bridges and other civil infrastructure. The system comprises a distributed network of structural and environmental sensors configured to acquire parameters including strain, vibration, displacement, crack development, corrosion, temperature, humidity and load. The acquired data is processed using edge computing and a sensor-fusion mechanism and analyzed by an artificial intelligence engine to detect abnormal structural behaviour, classify deterioration, estimate severity and predict structural risk. A risk and maintenance decision engine determines the maintenance priority based on structural condition, deterioration rate, structural criticality and prediction confidence. Based on the determined condition, a localized self-maintenance actuation unit selectively performs a suitable maintenance operation including crack sealing, corrosion protection, protective coating or structural strengthening. A post- maintenance verification unit subsequently monitors the treated region and compares the post-maintenance condition with pre- maintenance and baseline conditions to determine maintenance effectiveness. The system thereby provides a closed-loop structural monitoring, intelligent assessment, localized maintenance and verification mechanism, enabling early deterioration detection and condition-based maintenance of civil infrastructure.
