MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106510 A) filed by Sr University on September 03, 2026, for Ai-Enabled Iot System For Real-Time Precision Fertilizer And Pesticide Application.
Inventors include Dr. Rahul Mukundrao Mulajkar; and Dr. Durgesh Nandan.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: An AI-enabled Internet of Things precision agrochemical application system is disclosed for real-time field-specific delivery of fertilizers and pesticides. The system comprises soil, crop, environmental and position sensors, an IoT communication network, a processing controller, an artificial intelligence inference module, a field mapping module, and a variable-rate dispensing assembly. Sensor data representing soil condition, crop condition, ambient parameters and applicator location are acquired and associated with georeferenced field zones. The artificial intelligence inference module evaluates the acquired data to determine an application requirement for each field zone and generates fertilizer or pesticide application commands. The controller actuates independently controllable metering and dispensing elements according to the generated commands while receiving feedback representative of actual dispensing conditions. Application records are stored with location and time information for monitoring, traceability and subsequent model refinement. The system thereby enables adaptive, site-specific agrochemical delivery while reducing unnecessary uniform application across spatially variable agricultural fields.
