Inventors include Ms. Lithu Mathew; Ms. Anju Pathrose; and Ms. Kala O S.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: The present system discloses an AI-Enabled IoT System for Real-Time Network Traffic Analysis and Intelligent Threat Detection that enhances cybersecurity in large- scale IoT environments through intelligent edge-cloud collaboration. Network traffic generated by heterogeneous IoT devices is continuously monitored and analyzed at edge gateways using advanced feature extraction techniques. A hybrid CNN-LSTM deep learning model detects known and unknown cyber threats, while an Explainable Artificial Intelligence module provides transparent threat classification. A Reinforcement Learning-based response engine automatically executes mitigation actions such as firewall updates, traffic isolation, access control enforcement, and dynamic network segmentation. Federated learning enables collaborative model improvement across distributed IoT deployments without sharing sensitive data. The proposed system significantly improves threat detection accuracy, reduces false positives, minimizes response latency, enhances network resilience, and supports scalable, privacy-preserving cybersecurity for smart cities, industrial IoT, healthcare systems, intelligent transportation, and next-generation communication networks.
