Abstract: The present invention relates to a Smart Evacuation Route System developed for improving human safety during emergency situations such as fire accidents, smoke spread, gas leakage, and other hazardous conditions in buildings and public areas. Conventional evacuation systems mainly depend on fixed exit sign boards, which cannot respond dynamically according to the location of danger. This may lead people toward unsafe routes and increase confusion and panic during emergencies. To overcome these limitations, the proposed invention uses intelligent sensing and monitoring techniques to provide real-time evacuation guidance. The system consists of smoke sensors, gas sensors, temperature sensors, a microcontroller unit such as Arduino or ESP32, alarms, LED indicators, and display units. The sensors continuously monitor environmental conditions and detect hazardous situations. When danger is identified, the microcontroller processes the sensor data and automatically determines the safest evacuation path. The system then guides occupants toward secure exit routes using visual and audio indications such as warning alarms, directional LEDs, and display messages. The invention helps in reducing panic, avoiding blocked or dangerous paths, and improving the overall efficiency of emergency evacuation procedures. The proposed Smart Evacuation Route System can be implemented in schools, colleges, hospitals, shopping malls, offices, industries, airports, and other crowded public places. The invention is simple, cost-effective, reliable, and capable of enhancing emergency management and public safety.
