The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled device for drug authenticity verification based on spectral reflectance analysis, which provides a portable and standalone device for detecting counterfeit, adulterated, degraded, or substandard medicines using spectral reflectance analysis and artificial intelligence (AI). The device illuminates a pharmaceutical sample, including a tablet, capsule, or powder, and captures its reflected optical response using an integrated spectrometer operating across visible and near-infrared wavelengths. The acquired spectral data is processed locally to generate a characteristic spectral signature, which is compared with reference spectral signatures and composition information stored in an integrated drug database. The device provides dual verification modes, allowing a user to select a medicine from the database or manually enter its name and composition. An AI-based analysis module evaluates spectral similarity and identifies deviations associated with counterfeit or substandard products. The verification result is displayed instantly, including the drug name, composition, authenticity status, and confidence score. The device operates offline without requiring smartphones, internet connectivity, or laboratory equipment.
