MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611092035 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Srinagar on July 29, 2026, for Ai Enabled Design Of Anaerobic Digestion System For Optimum Domestic Energy Utilization.

Inventors include Dr. Malik Parvez; Samroot Sambreen Wani; Dr. Saniya Zahoor; and Dr. Shabir Ahmad Sofi.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled anaerobic digestion system for optimum domestic energy utilization through intelligent renewable energy generation and adaptive digestion management. The system comprises a feedstock preparation module configured for shredding, homogenization, pretreatment, thermal conditioning, and stabilization of biodegradable organic waste prior to anaerobic digestion. A continuous feeding module regulates slurry transfer into an anaerobic digestion reactor configured to biologically convert organic matter into methane-rich biogas and nutrient-rich digestate under oxygen-free conditions. A mixing and agitation module maintains slurry circulation and digestion stability within the reactor. A sensor and data acquisition module continuously monitors operational parameters including pH, temperature, methane concentration, gas pressure, slurry conditions, and microbial activity. An artificial intelligence-based monitoring and control framework analyses operational data using machine learning and predictive analytics for autonomous digestion optimization and fault management. A gas collection and handling module regulates generated biogas for domestic energy utilization, while a digestate discharge module facilitates nutrient recovery and agricultural reuse. An IoT-enabled communication interface supports remote monitoring, predictive maintenance communication, operational analytics, and centralized supervisory control.
