MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641107790 A) filed by Pragati Engineering College on September 08, 2026, for Ai-Enabled Battery Health Prediction And Adaptive Charging System For Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include Dr. G. Naresh; Mr. D Prakasa Rao; Mr. Venkatadurgaprasad Kante; and Mrs. P. Sandhya.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled battery health prediction and adaptive charging system for electric vehicles. The system integrates battery sensing, a Battery Management System (BMS), artificial intelligence, and an adaptive charging controller to monitor and improve the operating performance of an electric vehicle battery. The system continuously acquires battery parameters including voltage, current, temperature, State of Charge (SoC), charging cycles, and cell voltage variation. The acquired data are processed by an AI-based prediction module to estimate the battery State of Health (SoH), degradation level, and thermal condition. Based on the predicted battery condition, an adaptive charging controller dynamically adjusts charging parameters such as charging current, voltage, power, and charging duration. The system continuously evaluates real-time battery feedback and modifies the charging profile to reduce excessive electrical and thermal stress. The proposed invention enables condition-based intelligent charging, early identification of battery degradation, improved charging safety, optimized energy utilization, and potential extension of battery service life. The system is applicable to electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, buses, commercial electric vehicles, and battery energy storage systems.
