Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention is an AI enabled ground robot designed for real-time border surveillance, RGB based intruder identification and tracking and potential explosive threat detection. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot includes a platform equipped with an RGB camera, optional thermal or depth sensors, localization components, obstacle sensors, a processing unit and a communication module. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot preprocesses camera data. Uses an AI based object detection model to find people, vehicles and other predefined objects. RGB colour analysis on the AI enabled ground robot can help pick a person, for tracking across consecutive video frames. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot follows set waypoints and uses its sensors to dodge obstacles. When the AI enabled autonomous ground robot spots something it logs the item with a timestamp, confidence score, available image and approximate location and the AI enabled autonomous ground robot sends an alert to an authorized monitoring station. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot lets operators review footage remotely and make decisions. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot does not automatically handle suspected explosive objects. The AI enabled autonomous ground robot is meant to work alongside surveillance and boost situational awareness in areas that are hard to reach.
