MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088046 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College on July 18, 2026, for Ai-Enabled Adaptive Robotic Welding Platform With Real-Time Defect Correction And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Suman Gothwal; and Dr. Ayushi Prakash.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-enabled adaptive robotic welding platform (100) and method for real-time detection, prediction and correction of welding defects. The platform comprises a robotic manipulator (102) carrying a welding end-effector assembly (104), a multi-sensor array (108), a sensor fusion engine (106), an AI defect detection engine (110), a digital-twin simulation module (124), an adaptive process control unit (112), a closed-loop feedback controller (114), an edge computing unit (120), a welding power source (116), and a motion control subsystem (118). The sensor fusion engine (106) generates a unified representation from synchronized multi-modal sensor data, enabling the AI defect detection engine (110) and digital-twin simulation module (124) to identify and predict weld defects. The adaptive process control unit (112) simultaneously adjusts welding parameters and robotic motion through the closed-loop feedback controller (114), thereby enabling autonomous, real-time defect correction, continuous learning and improved weld quality.
