Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-enabled adaptive multimodal learning and communication system for children with special educational needs. The system captures speech, gestures, facial expressions, eye gaze, touch, and symbol-based inputs and fuses them using an attention-based deep learning model to recognize the child's communicative intent. A learner state estimation module evaluates engagement, attention, frustration, and cognitive load in real time. Based on the learner profile and current state, a reinforcement learning–based adaptive engine personalizes content difficulty, pacing, and presentation modality, while an AAC module provides context-aware symbol prediction and speech output in the child's preferred language. An intervention module detects distress and initiates calming actions, and a dashboard provides progress analytics to educators and parents. The system improves accessibility, personalization, and learning outcomes for children with diverse special needs.
