Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-based cognitive decision support system for industrial equipment health optimization and failure recovery. The system receives heterogeneous information from equipment sensors, industrial controllers, production systems, maintenance repositories, environmental sources and historical equipment records and transforms the information into a synchronized, quality-aware and context-associated evidence set. An artificial intelligence based health inference engine generates a multidimensional equipment-health state using dynamic operating baselines, cross-parameter relationships and temporal equipment behaviour. A prediction engine determines degradation trajectories and potential future failure conditions while maintaining confidence information associated with the predictions. A cognitive decision engine evaluates operational, maintenance and recovery actions according to equipment condition, equipment criticality, production requirements, safety constraints and resource availability. A failure recovery orchestration mechanism generates and manages adaptive recovery sequences including load modification, equipment isolation, redundant-equipment activation, controlled restart and maintenance intervention. The recovery mechanism continuously evaluates actual equipment response and modifies the recovery sequence when the observed response differs from the expected response.
