Abstract: [051] The present invention provides an AI-enabled adaptive edge computing system and method for context-aware assistive and bioinformatics applications. A multimodal acquisition gateway receives heterogeneous physiological, behavioral, imaging, audio, environmental, and device-state data, performs synchronization and quality assessment, and supplies the data to a context-adaptive edge intelligence engine. The engine instantiates a task-specific feature graph and a resource-aware inference partitioner dynamically selects local, split, or policy-permitted remote execution according to sensor quality, processor and memory availability, energy state, network condition, task urgency, privacy class, and output consequence. A privacy and identity boundary retains identity-linked raw data locally while permitting controlled processing of de-identified intermediate representations or privacy-preserving model updates. An uncertainty and safety manager conditions consequential outputs on confidence and may invoke alternate modalities, secondary models, or fail-safe outputs. Closed-loop outcome feedback supports personalization, confidence calibration, and differentiated drift handling. The architecture reduces communication dependency and enables adaptive, privacy-aware, low-latency AI operation across assistive interfaces and bioinformatics analytics.
