Abstract: AI-DRIVEN VIRTUAL REALITY SELF-DEFENCE TRAINING SYSTEM USING POSE ESTIMATION AND MOTION ALIGNMENT The present invention relates to a virtual reality-based self-defence training system (100) configured to provide immersive training environments and quantitative motion evaluation. The system comprises a processor (101), a virtual reality environment module (103), an animation module (104), an image acquisition device (106), a pose estimation module (108), a landmark normalization module (110), a temporal alignment module (111), an overlay rendering module (113), and a feedback generation module (114). Body movements performed by a trainee are captured and processed to extract body landmarks and generate temporal landmark sequences. Reference landmark sequences corresponding to defender animation sequences are generated and aligned with user landmark sequences using Dynamic Time Warping-based temporal alignment. The system generates synchronized overlay outputs and similarity metrics for post-session evaluation. The invention reduces dependence on dedicated tracking hardware, compensates for speed variations, and improves accessibility and objective performance assessment.
