Abstract: AI-Driven National Digital Twin Framework for Real-Time Critical Government Infrastructure Management Using Autonomous Intelligence, IoT, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an AI-Driven National Digital Twin Framework for Real Time Critical Government Infrastructure Management Using Autonomous Intelligence, IoT, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence, configured to create and continuously operate a unified digital representation of geographically distributed critical government infrastructure. The framework integrates Internet of Things (IoT) sensor networks, real-time data acquisition, edge and cloud computing, digital twin modelling, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, autonomous intelligence, simulation, anomaly detection, and explainable artificial intelligence within a unified architecture. The system acquires heterogeneous real-time information from critical infrastructure including government buildings, transportation systems, energy facilities, water systems, communication networks, public utility assets, emergency infrastructure, and other authorized government facilities. An IoT data acquisition layer collects operational, environmental, structural, energy, security, and performance parameters from distributed sensor nodes and connected systems. A digital twin engine transforms the acquired information into continuously synchronized virtual representations of physical infrastructure assets, their operational states, interdependencies, and geographic relationships. An AI analytics engine performs anomaly detection, condition assessment, predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, failure prediction, resource optimization, and infrastructure risk assessment. An autonomous intelligence module evaluates detected conditions, simulates alternative operational scenarios, prioritizes responses, and generates recommended actions according to predefined operational constraints and authorization policies. An explainable AI module provides human-readable explanations by identifying relevant sensor observations, infrastructure dependencies, predictive factors, simulation results, and reasoning paths contributing to each generated recommendation or risk assessment. A real-time command and governance interface provides authorized government personnel with infrastructure health indicators, alerts, predictive insights, scenario simulations, and evidence-linked recommendations. The framework further maintains historical and real-time digital twin states to support infrastructure planning, emergency preparedness, coordinated resource management, and resilience analysis. The invention improves situational awareness, predictive capability, operational coordination, resource utilization, transparency, and resilience of critical government infrastructure while maintaining configurable human oversight and authorization for high-impact operational actions.
