Abstract: ABSTRACT 5 A smart solar panel protection system (100) is disclosed for enhancing durability and energy efficiency of a photovoltaic panel (1 0 I) under dynamic environmental conditions. The system comprises a multi-modal sensing module (102) including at least one light intensity sensor, ultraviolet (UV) radiation sensor, and temperature or irradiance variability sensor to capture realtime environmental parameters. An edge-processing unit (103) integrated with a machine learning 10 inference engine processes the sensed data to predict imminent high-risk exposure conditions. An adaptive Si02-based protective shielding mechanism (104), including a nanostructured superhydrophobic coating, electrochromic layer, or mechanically deployable transparent panel, is selectively actuated via an intelligent actuation module (105). A communication interface (106) enables loT-based monitoring and control. The system performs predictive analysis, compares 15 sensed and forecasted parameters with adaptive .thresholds, and dynamically regulates incident radiation, thereby providing proactive, real-time, and condition-responsive protection while optimizing photovoltaic performance and operational lifespan.
