MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621085249 A) filed by Acropolis Institute Of Technology And Research on July 12, 2026, for Ai-Driven Crowd Analytics System For Real-Time Overcrowding Detection And Alert Generation.

Inventors include Kamal Kumar Sethi; and Narendra Pal Singh Rathore.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: An AI-driven crowd analytics system for real-time overcrowding detection and alert generation is disclosed. The system comprises an image acquisition unit configured to capture live video data from one or more monitored areas, an edge pre-processing unit configured to process and normalize the acquired video frames, and an AI crowd analytics engine configured to detect individuals or representative body features, estimate crowd density, and determine real-time crowd parameters including crowd count and crowd density. A Threshold and Decision Module compares the determined crowd parameters with predefined, configurable, or adaptive threshold values to identify overcrowding conditions. Upon detection of an overcrowding event, an Alert Generation Module automatically generates graded alerts and transmits notifications to one or more monitoring interfaces and notification devices. A Central Processing and Storage Server records crowd analytics data and alert events for historical analysis and predictive crowd management. The system enables accurate, scalable, real-time, and privacy-preserving overcrowding detection in monitored environments, including densely populated and partially occluded scenes.
