Abstract: ABSTRACT The growth of intelligent transportation systems and connected traffic infrastructure has improved urban mobility but has also introduced new cybersecurity risks. Traffic signals, vehicle communication networks, and traffic control systems are potential targets for coordinated cyber- attacks. Most existing traffic management systems rely on reactive security approaches that respond only after an attack has occurred. This invention proposes an AI-based cooperative cyber- attack prediction and autonomous traffic network protection system. The system combines artificial intelligence, machine learning techniques, and distributed monitoring agents to identify, predict, and automatically respond to cyber threats in traffic infrastructure networks. By analyzing real-time traffic information and network behavior, the system detects unusual patterns that may indicate cyber-attacks. When a threat is detected or predicted, the system activates automated protection mechanisms such as isolating compromised nodes, adjusting traffic signal operations, and applying defensive configurations to maintain safe traffic flow.
