Abstract: The increasing challenges faced by farmers in detecting and managing diseases in chilli crops have highlighted the need for innovative solutions in agricultural technology. This project focuses on the development of an AI-driven system aimed at early detection and management of diseases affecting chilli plants. The system utilizes machine learning, specifically the MobileNetV2 model implemented with TensorFlow, to classify and identify various diseases based on images of chilli plants. A dataset comprising thousands of labelled images of chilli crops was used to train the model, allowing it to recognize symptoms such as leaf spots, wilting, and blight. The model achieved an accuracy of 85%, demonstrating its potential to assist farmers in early disease detection, which can help prevent significant crop losses. The system provides actionable insights and disease management recommendations, enabling timely interventions and enhancing overall crop yield. This AI-based approach offers a scalable and effective solution to improve the sustainability and productivity of chilli farming, with future plans to expand the model's capabilities to other crops and enhance its real-world applicability in diverse farming conditions.
