MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101503 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Ai-Driven Adaptive Smart Wiper System For Intelligent Surface Cleaning And Maintenance.
Inventors include Kirti; and Sachin Chawla.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence AI-driven adaptive smart wiper system for intelligent surface cleaning. The system comprises a wiper blade assembly, multi-modal sensors, an edge computing unit, adaptive control logic, and a motor controller configured to dynamically optimize wiping parameters based on real-time contamination analysis. Sensor data acquired from optical, pressure, vibration, current, and environmental sensors are processed by an AI model to classify contamination type and severity. Based on the classification, the system automatically adjusts wiping speed, pressure, stroke pattern, and frequency to achieve efficient cleaning while minimizing energy consumption and mechanical wear. A closed-loop feedback mechanism continuously evaluates cleaning performance and updates the wiping strategy through adaptive learning. The system further incorporates predictive maintenance for blade health monitoring and optional IoT connectivity for remote diagnostics, cloud-assisted model refinement, and performance analytics, thereby enabling autonomous, context-aware, and resource-efficient cleaning operations.
