MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621080924 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on June 30, 2026, for Ai-Based Urban Traffic Congestion Prediction System Using Iot Sensor Fusion And Lstm Neural Network.
Inventor includes Dr. N. A. Natraj.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT AI-BASED URBAN TRAFFIC CONGESTION PREDICTION SYSTEM USING IOT SENSOR FUSION AND LSTM NEURAL NETWORK An AI- based urban traffic congestion prediction system (100) fusing real-time data from inductive loop sensor arrays (112), GPS probe data receivers (114), and weather station interfaces (116) into per-segment feature vectors through an IoT sensor fusion module (110). A data preprocessing engine (120) cleanses, enriches, and normalizes the fused data. An LSTM neural network prediction engine (130) generates thirty-minute-ahead congestion level predictions for monitored road segments. A route guidance dissemination module (140) publishes proactive congestion alerts to navigation application APIs when predicted levels exceed configurable thresholds. An online model update module (150) retrains LSTM parameters from observed outcomes. A traffic management dashboard (160) displays predicted congestion maps and accuracy metrics. The system enables proactive congestion management through advance prediction. [
