Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-based travel activity data collection and analysis system and working method thereof for automated mobility data acquisition and intelligent travel analytics. The system comprises a Mobile Sensing and Detection Module (100) configured to collect GNSS, accelerometer, gyroscope, and activity recognition data from a mobile device, a Finite-State Trip Controller (110) for automated trip detection and segmentation, a Contextual AI Prompting and Inference Engine (200) for generating selectively ranked contextual prompts, an On-Device Privacy Preservation and Local Storage Unit (300) for encrypted offline buffering and irreversible deletion of raw trajectory data, and a Secure Cloud Analytics and API Gateway (400) for authenticated storage, anonymisation, spatial indexing, and analytical access. The invention reduces respondent burden, improves travel data accuracy, enables offline resilience, and preserves privacy through on-device trace deletion and rotating anonymisation tokens. The invention is applicable in transport planning, smart-city management, mobility analytics, and travel behaviour studies. Accompanied Drawings [Fig. 1-4]
