Abstract: [053] An AI-based structural health monitoring and predictive failure detection system for bridges, buildings and other civil structures is disclosed. The system employs spatially distributed heterogeneous sensor nodes to acquire structural response and environmental or operational context, and uses edge processing to time-align measurements, assess sensor health and extract compact structural features. An adaptive baseline compensates the features for benign contextual variation and is updated through a gated learning mechanism that excludes suspected damage states. A hybrid diagnostic engine combines data-driven anomaly detection with physics- informed consistency evaluation using a structural digital representation, while a localization engine maps fused evidence to probable damaged structural zones. A prognostic engine evaluates time-indexed condition indicators to estimate deterioration trajectories and engineering-threshold-crossing intervals. A confidence-weighted risk engine combines anomaly severity, structural criticality, deterioration rate, model agreement and sensor confidence to generate graded inspection, maintenance, load-management or emergency actions. The architecture supports intensified event sampling and continued edge diagnosis during communication interruptions. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2].
