Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an AI-based smart wearable sock system for early detection of peripheral neuropathy through continuous gait monitoring. The system comprises a sock body integrated with a flex sensing module, a pressure sensing module, an inertial sensing module, a temperature sensing module, a processing and control module, and an AI-based analysis module. The flex sensing module measures toe bending, the pressure sensing module measures plantar pressure distribution, the inertial sensing module measures foot motion and orientation, and the temperature sensing module monitors foot temperature. The processing and control module performs signal acquisition, filtering, gait-phase identification, toe-clearance estimation, and multi- sensor fusion to generate gait parameters. The AI-based analysis module analyzes the generated parameters using machine-learning techniques to identify gait abnormalities associated with peripheral neuropathy, foot drop, and ulcer-risk conditions. The system provides real-time diagnostic outputs and remote monitoring capabilities through a communication interface, enabling portable, non- invasive, and continuous assessment of foot health and gait abnormalities outside clinical environments.
