MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641105954 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 02, 2026, for Ai-Based Smart Wearable Slipper For Health Monitoring, Fall Detection, And Emergency Alerting.
Inventors include Ms. R. Geetha Rajakumari; Mr. Shiv Kumar Gupta; and Ms. Shruti Kumari Jaiswal.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The current invention is an AI-Based Smart Wearable Slipper for Health Monitoring, Fall Detection, and Emergency Alerting designed to improve the safety and well- being of the elderly, patients with mobility limitations, and other vulnerable users. The system includes a wearable slipper equipped with one or more motion sensors, pressure sensors, a temperature sensor, a microcontroller, GPS and GSM communication modules, a vibration motor, an audio buzzer, a manual SOS button, and a wireless communication interface. The microcontroller runs an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system that constantly monitors the user's movement, gait pattern, activity level, foot pressure, and atypical movement behaviour in order to detect abnormal gait features and potential fall risks. When a user falls, the system monitors their movement for ten minutes as part of a prearranged post-fall recovery assessment. In order to lessen the possibility of false emergency warnings, it will record the occurrence and send out a recovery notification if the user regains balance and begins regular walking during the observation period. If a person is unconscious, unable to recover, or inactive for a long time, the system uses the GSM communication module to transmit an emergency SOS message and the user's current GPS location to registered emergency contacts or caregivers. The device immediately makes a voice call to the emergency contacts and sounds an audio buzzer to warn anyone in the area if recovery is not detected within an additional predefined time frame. Immediate emergency communication is made possible through the use of the manual SOS button that is not similar to the automatic fall detector. The device offers immediate monitoring, gait analysis, emergency alerts, and activity tracking through a mobile app. This makes it an intelligent and reliable wearable technology tool for ensuring the safety of an individual.
