MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611089487 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College on July 22, 2026, for Ai-Based Smart Irrigation Monitoring And Control System And Working Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Rahul Sharma; Mr. Pankaj Singh; Ms. Sheradha Jauhari; Ms. Mili Srivastava; and Ms. Tanu Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-based smart irrigation monitoring and control system comprising a multi-parametric environmental sensing sub-system (10), a networked microcontroller-based data acquisition and processing unit (20), a bidirectional real-time communication sub-system (30), a cloud-hosted predictive intelligence engine (40), and an electromechanical actuation and irrigation control unit (50). The sensing sub-system (10) continuously acquires soil moisture, temperature, and humidity data, which are processed and transmitted through the communication sub-system (30) to the predictive intelligence engine (40). The predictive intelligence engine (40) employs a machine learning model to generate adaptive irrigation control commands based on real-time environmental conditions. The actuation and irrigation control unit (50) automatically regulates irrigation operations in response to the generated control commands. The invention enables autonomous irrigation management, reduced water wastage, improved crop health monitoring, and real-time adaptive decision-making for smart agricultural applications.
