The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-Based Smart Garbage Bin Fill-Level Predictor that enables intelligent waste management by continuously monitoring and predicting the fill level of garbage bins. The system integrates ultrasonic and weight sensors to collect real-time waste accumulation data, while environmental sensors such as temperature and humidity monitor surrounding conditions that may affect waste storage. The collected data is processed by an embedded microcontroller and transmitted to a cloud-based platform through wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi or LoRa. An artificial intelligence prediction engine analyzes historical and real-time data to forecast the remaining capacity and estimated time until the bin becomes full. Based on these predictions, the system automatically generates alerts and optimizes waste collection schedules, reducing unnecessary collection trips and preventing bin overflow. A centralized web or mobile dashboard provides municipal authorities and waste management personnel with real-time bin status, predictive analytics, route recommendations, and maintenance notifications. The proposed invention improves operational efficiency, minimizes fuel consumption and labor costs, enhances urban cleanliness, and supports the development of sustainable and smart city waste management systems.
