Abstract: The AI-Based Smart Ambulance and Traffic Control System is an intelligent transportation framework designed to optimize emergency response time and improve patient survival rates through real-time data processing, edge computing, and adaptive traffic management. Traditional traffic systems lack the capability to dynamically respond to emergency vehicles, leading to delays caused by congestion, poor coordination, and lack of communication between ambulances and traffic infrastructure. The proposed system integrates an Ambulance Edge Unit (AEU), Roadside Acoustic-Optical Nodes (RAON), a Centralized AI Traffic Brain (CATB), and a mesh self- healing network to enable seamless Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication. The system continuously monitors patient vitals, computes an urgency score, detects ambulance sirens using AI-based edge inference, and dynamically creates a predictive “green corridor” ahead of the ambulance. By combining real-time analytics, reinforcement learning, and decentralized communication, the system ensures proactive traffic signal control, reduces emergency response delays, and enhances urban traffic efficiency. This framework provides a scalable and reliable solution for smart city emergency management systems.
