Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: AI-BASED RESEARCH GAP IDENTIFICATION AND LITERATURE ANALYSIS SYSTEM An AI-based research gap identification and literature analysis system (100) and method (200) for automated surfacing, characterisation and prioritisation of research gaps within a specified domain. A literature corpus ingestion module (110) acquires and normalises documents from scholarly and technical sources; a knowledge representation module (120) unifies neural embeddings through a semantic embedding generator (122), a domain ontology and concept graph (124) and a citation and co-citation graph (126). A query and domain scoping engine (130) derives a bounded working corpus. A literature analysis engine (140) extracts claims, methods, datasets and findings and detects contradictions through a contradiction and consensus detection unit (148). A research-gap identification engine (150) produces distinct conceptual, empirical, methodological and temporal gap indicators through sub-modules (152, 154, 156, 158). A gap ranking and recommendation module (160) with a reinforcement-learning ranker (166) prioritises the said gaps and a feedback and model-retraining module (180) refines the models. [Figure 1]
