Abstract: ABSTRACT AI-BASED REAR-WHEEL CHILD DETECTION AND BRAKING SAFETY SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES A safety system (100) for a vehicle (10) comprises a shaft rotation sensor (110) configured to detect reverse motion of the vehicle (10) and generate an activation signal, an embedded artificial intelligence hardware (120) communicatively coupled to the shaft rotation sensor (110) to receive the activation signal, and an integrated sensor module (130) comprising a radar sensor (132) and a night-vision camera (134) configured to monitor a rear-wheel danger zone and transmit sensor data to the embedded artificial intelligence hardware (120). The embedded artificial intelligence hardware (120) receives the sensor data, applies a child-detection algorithm to classify whether a detected object is a child, and generates a braking command upon classification of the detected object as a child. A brake interface mechanism (140) is coupled to the embedded artificial intelligence hardware (120) and actuates a braking system (150) in response to the braking command
