MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076045 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering on June 19, 2026, for Ai-Based Real-Time Waste Management Optimization And Smart Segregation System For Smart Cities.

Inventor includes Dr. Kandukuri Geetha.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: This patent pertains to an AI-Based Real-Time Waste Management Optimization and Smart Segregation System for Smart Cities that enhances efficiency of waste management and helps in maintaining hygiene in the urban environment. The invention processes waste data including bin fill levels, kinds of waste materials, environmental conditions, etc., which is obtained from smart bins and other waste management systems installed at various locations. The acquired data goes through a preprocessing step to increase its quality to help with better analysis. Subsequently, this preprocessed data is analyzed using machine learning algorithms for classification purposes as well as prediction of waste accumulation rates. The data is monitored regularly and analyzed for effective decision making based on the identified patterns. Upon detection of exceeding waste levels, alerts are issued along with computation of optimal waste collection paths. This information is then conveyed to municipal administrators using suitable communication channels.
